Archery Hunting For Pheasant?
May 19, 2008 by blog100
CMA asked:
Has anyone heard of or better yet done any pheasant hunting with a bow? If so, how successful were you? Also, where can I find out more information on this?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, I’ve done it. I noticed the pheasant in my area **** to fly, they would rather run. As far as success, I’ve only got one using my bow. Still fun though! Not to sure if your gona find to much info on this. Hard enough to get one with a gun. Happy Hunting
sounds Fun
id do it
Ive done it in the past however the success rate wasnt very good. I averaged 1 out of about 17. I practiced ALOT first at balloons on a weighted string then progressed to frisbees being thrown. GOOD LUCK if you have no luck with it heres a cute little link you might check out for fun…http://www.bubbletoonia.com/game/bigbird.html
i have seen it done on tv there’s one guy that hunts all kinds of small gamewith his recurve bow rabbits birds(pheasants) groundhogs the show is on the outdoorchannel
You need an arrow called a Flu – Flu. Not exactly sure if that is spelled correctly but it is pronounced just like flew flew. It has six fletchens which are a bit longer than normal. Great for short range shooting and your arrow does not go really high or far as it is designed for wingshooting. Have a friend throw up a pheasant sized block of styrofoam and shoot at it for the best practice. You will be surprised how quickly you pick up on the aim. Good luck!
Kayro: yes, and most people tend to expect home to be the center of the map. ,
