John H asked:
looking to buy a 12 G for some pheasant hunting. wanna keep it under 1100 bucks and thinkinig about either an autoloader or an o/u. let me know what you guys think. it will only be used for upland hunting and skeet shooting. thanks

I would recommend a “Mossberg” 500. The thing comes with a kit with an assortment of barrels. one long and one short. Its very inexpensive, i bought one a few years ago
In that price range you can get a nice auto or over under.
Got to go w/ Nap.
Not a Mossberg fan but it will hit what you point it at if you have a good eye.
Main thing is that it fits you .
If owning a fine gun is your thing, get the best you can afford in either action.
Might be some advantage in weight & certainly looks but consider the
country boy who always gets his limit & smokes clays with a klunker from the old Montgomery ward catalog.
a nice auto loader will be good
since you can spend up to $1100, i would get a benelli or a browning myself
they make the best autoloaders
if you dont want or cant afford either of those manufactuers, go with a remington. they are nice guns and fairly cheap too
good luck and shoot straight
Save yourself some money and buy a remmington 870 express, they come with 2 barrels and are highly reliable
a Remington 1100 would be a good choice….
Take A Look!!!
I think a semi-auto is better if you are going to shoot skeet. There are some good ones out there. Remington and Browning make good ones for less than $1100. Can’t go wrong with either one of them.
