Successful hunters and animal photographers share some common skills.

Patience, no smoking, no fragrances, no fidgeting and attention to the task at hand.

Some of the stories you see on Animal Planet are the compilation of years of work and miles and miles of film or video to get enough footage to put a story together.

Long lenses, quiet cameras and expert photographers are one of the many keys to successful “wildlife” or animal photography, still or in motion.

I once spent over five days sitting in a freezer to get a shot of a penguins hatchling emerge from its fathers feet, long enough for me to get the shot.
